The point is: will their son or daughter install Flock for them, rather than Firefox? Why do you think they would use Flock instead of Firefox? I think that is much simpler for Flock to spread over pleople like me, than over people like the target you’re referring to. In fact, I read many web/ICT news, I stay up to date, I really know what is happening over the web and IP world in general so I know Flock exists and I’m interested in trying it, evaluating it and comparing it to the other browsers. They don’t. They know Firefox (now more than ever).
I think their son or daughter will better know Firefox because their friends will discuss on it at school, because by that time Firefox is well known and can count on its huge rank of users. Maybe they collect extensions (“Hey Jim, have you already installed this cool extension ?!?”) like stamps.
I think Firefox is finally being succesuful in entering the normal user’s PC, so for the “normal” users (not geeks) another browser is simply something which consufes him more. And, after few months from now, it will get worse and worse.
I think the time to market is wrong for Flock. You’re late. IMHO, of course.
