Share Meebo to launch MeeboMe
Techcrunch reported today that Meebo launched MeeboMe, a simple IM widget that you can insert into your blog to chat with your online visitors.
MeeboMe is a Flash-based chat widget that Meebo users can place on a website. This is not a group chat feature that companies like 3bubbles have launched in the recent past (and which are plagued by scaling issues). MeeboMe is a one-on-one communication between a website owner and a visitor.
In the past months I gave 3bubbles a try, but I didn’t like it very much. No one used it neither it was so clear how to find it into the blog. MeeboMe seems slightly different, so I decided to try it out (I’ll insert it into my blog while I’m on vacation).
I think it’s a good move by Seth, because this way Meebo can really spread all over internet very quickly.
Blogs widget are an interesting marketing swissknife. One trick to be successful ? Offering bloggers a different way to earn money. That’s the challenge
