A few months ago I’ve posted some notes on how Google Ad Sense and Kontera were performing on my blog. This is the third episode, where I also add Feedburner Ads.
For your convenience, here’s the summary of the first two episodes:
First Episose
Google AdSense CTR (Click Through Rate): 0,99%
Kontera In-Text relevance CTR: 3.03%
Second Episode
Google AdSense CTR (Click Through Rate): 0,75%
Kontera In-Text relevance CTR: 3.13%
Here’s the third episode (that is, current performances):
Google AdSense CTR (Click Through Rate): 0,61%
Kontera In-Text relevance CTR: 2.25%
Feedburner Ads: 6,71%
A few notes:
- Google Adsense’s stats are related to content only, not search;
- Feedburner’s data is related to ads appearing on the website, not RSS (because feed ads perform very bad, 0% CTR).
Despite Google’s performances are worse than Kontera, Google pays more. Much more. Too times Kontera (measured in the same period of time). At the same time, FeedBurner’s CTR on the website is definitely fantastic.
In conclusion, Google should offer attractive ads like Feedburner, using the In-Text relevance engine of Kontera and paying like they are doing. It would become the perfect advertising’s engine. Not bad
