Babelgum, Joost’s competitor

Babelgum is a peer-to-peer internet television which just started their beta testing phase.

Are they going to compete with Joost? The claim to use a “cutting-edge peer-to-peer technology to stream video to your PC safely and efficiently at near-TV resolution”, so I look forward to trying it soon. I’ve juts applied for the beta testing.

Why does this company catch my attention? Here’s the founder and chairman of the board:

Founder and Chairman of the Board

Silvio Scaglia is the Chairman and financial backer of Babel Networks.
Silvio is also founder, Chairman and largest shareholder of FASTWEB, today the second Wireline Telecommunication Company in Italy.

Since Fastweb is a great case of success in Italy, I recommend to keep this company in mind.
