My MacBook’s battery is dead

It seems that the battery of my MacBook died.

Today the menu bar’s icon is shown with a “x” on it. This means that the battery is not properly recognized.

This is a documented issue, but after having tried all the possible solutions to fix it, it seems that the only solution is getting a new one. I hope they will be fast.

If your MacBook or MacBook Pro’s battery is fully drained of power, the battery will put itself into a low power state to preserve its ability to charge in future. Fully draining the battery might be done by running the battery until the computer sleeps and then leaving the battery in the sleeping computer for an extended period without plugging it in.

UPDATE: the local Apple store has taken my old battery and I’ll get a new one within one week. Great.

UPDATE2: I got the new battery (after 7 days). Great again.
