Shozu seems to be a great service for a multimedia mobile phone like N80i.
ShoZu offers two main features, available through a Symbian application freely downloadable to your mobile phone:
Share-It: Share-It is the easiest way to upload photos and videos to your sharing Web site. With just one click your photo or video is on the Web.
When friends or fans comment on any of your photos on the Web, ShoZu forwards those comments to your phone. With some sites you can even reply to them (while you’re still at the beach, the concert or just hanging out at the party) - now that’s really cool!
ZuCasts: ZuCasts are an amazing way to get music videos, great shows and fantastic photos - delivered automatically and invisibly to your phone.
You subscribe to the ZuCasts you want - favorite bands, funny videos, cool photos. Some ZuCasts have new stuff every week, some every day.
All of the ZuCasts available here are FREE.
The first one let you upload photos taken with your mobile phone to the main sharing and blogging services available online:
YouTube, BBC News, Blogger, Kodak EasyShare Gallery, Scoopt, BuzzNet, Flickr, Pikeo, MoBlogUK, Dada.net, TypePad, Wordpress, WebShot and others.
The second one let you subscribe your favourite videos or photos and receive them for free on your phone.
I was interested to try Share-it in order to post photos on my Blogger’s blog on the fly, since the Nokia application “LifeBlog” doesn’t work with blogger.
The setup process is pretty easy: you point your browser to the following link
and the download/install process starts automatically.
The next step is the configuration of the “destinations”, that are the online services where you want to upload your photos. I added Blogger very quickly and after a few seconds I was able to post photos and text to my blog.
You can easily open your photos from your phone’s gallery directly from within ShoZu and then choose the “Send to Blogger” option. Before doing that, you can modify title, description and even the associated tags. Really not bad. The problem is that you can upload your photo but it’s not shown as blog post, but just as photo uploaded into blogger’s repository and that you can use after.
I’ve also successfully posted a photo to Flickr. In this case, you have to add this “destination” from your ShoZu’s online user area, then you’ll automatically find it among the other destinations in your ShoZu mobile app.
Is it working ? Look at this post to see the final result.
In conclusion, I think ShoZu is a great mobile application, the ideal companion for your N-series Nokia phone. I’ve tried it with my N80i because the Wifi connectivity (I could do the same with the N93 of course), but you can install it on the N73 as well. All I have to do now is to figure out how to post a photo to my blog directly through ShoZu, but I’m not sure it will be possible.
