N800 power issues

by Luca Filigheddu on May 14, 2007

N800 power issues

I don’t know if it’s a matter of my unit, but I guess my N800 has an issue in the power/battery management.

Sometimes I can’t understand if the device is turned on or turned off! When I turn it off, then after one hour or something I often find it on or, vice-versa, when I turn it on sometimes it doesn’t work and I have to remove the battery then insert it again.

Is it a problem of my unit only?

Yes, my N800 also behaves oddly. I power it off, then find it on sometime later. Once I found the battery drained even though I had turned it off.
I have no idea how to fix this.

My device is actually always on.

If I'm not using it, I go offline from WLAN and the screen saver will quickly blank. In this mode, tha battery consumption is very low.

Advantage: you can leave all your apps open all the time.

My today's uptime is 3 days without charging and little use occasionally. I will charge it tomorrow.

    Hi Luca,

I have to say that I often wonder if my unit is on, off, asleep, or out of juice. I think it's off, so I go to turn it on, but it's already on so I end up turning it off instead. Confusing!
