Which phone is more expensive? David Berlind at ZDNet claims that Nokia N95 is “outrageously expensive”. Let’s double check.
iPhone
iPhone cost: $499 (4GB version)
Plan: $59.99 x 24months: $1439,76 (minimum)
Activation Fee: $36
Total = $1974,76
This is the minimum investment to get an iPhone.
Nokia N95
Total = $749
and you can use whatever plan/operator you want. Mmm…
To me, the main issue here is that you’re strictly bound to AT&T. You cannot get an unlocked iPhone. In Apple’s perspective, it makes sense, but this choice can potentially lead to less users than those expected. I’m curious to see how iPhone will be sold in Italy starting from October.
In the meantime, if you are an Apple employee, you can get a free iPhone. A bargain!
