After Germany, now it seems that O2, a mobile operator part of Telefonica Group, is the winner to be the exclusive partner of Apple to offer iPhone in the UK.

The Financial Times cited unidentified sources familiar with the matter as saying O2 would be the first European mobile operator to reach an agreement with Apple for iPhone in one of the industry’s most sought after deals in years.

As usual, I’m looking forward to reading this news for Italy soon!

UPDATE: Telefonica spokesman denied this news.
