As reported by few portals, Sony is going to launch (finally!) a new PSP in September.
At first sight, there’s nothing that special with the PSP 2.0. I bet a few times in this blog trying to figure out new features that I’d have appreciated in the new version.
Unfortunately none of them is here.
The new PSP is thinner and lighter and you can now connect it directly to your TV. This new size is nothing really special, since I think the current size is more than fair for such device.
The TV out instead is something expected by most gamers. The old PSP couldn’t connect to the TV, so you had to use third party hardware for doing that. But it wasn’t really worth it. In general, I usually use my PSP on the go, so this feature is not adding too much value for me.
Except for those above, nothing relevant. No VoIP, no integrated Webcam, no other cool features.
I’m going to pass on this.
