What I really hate during my working days is being interrupted by a phone call.
Even if a trusted person is calling me, when it comes to business, I always prefer to schedule a call rather than taking it in the exact moment when it makes my phone ring.
That said, I praise the good job by Alec Saunders & Co with their TalkNow for Blackberry, even if I don’t have a Blackberry… That’s the point, when are you going to release a S60 version of your software?
Here is my must-have features:
- I want to set my availability status, that others can see (pretty obvious)
- I want to have the ability to set a status “Scheduled calls only” through which, if I receive a call, automatically sends an SMS to the caller telling him the times during which I’m willing to schedule a call. Then he can send a properly pre-formatted SMS to a message center that will schedule a call with me automatically at the chosen time. The caller doesn’t need to have the application installed.
- If I have a scheduled call, the application advises me X minutes in advance
- I want callers to hear a voice message that explains that I’m accepting scheduled calls only
I know, maybe that’s something for early adopters and not for everyone. When I was speaking about this with our sales director he said: “are you crazy?!? I keep my mobile phone switched on at night also, a customer or prospect must ALWAYS find me available”… I can agree with him, but my perspective is a little bit different. I don’t want to lose opportunities neither I want my daily activity to be corrupted by continuous phone calls.
Hey Alec, come on, take out from your pocket that software please! ![]()
