I’m happy to announce that this blog has been selected to partner with Mashable, the popular blog on Web 2.0 and Mashups, for the first Open Web Awards (http://www.openwebawards.com will be available in the following days).

Open Web Awards is an online competition of Web 2.0 services/applications belonging to different categories. The approach to this award is pretty unique, since many technology blogs will be part of the nomination and voting process, that will take place soon in this blog and in the other blogs that are partnering with this event.
Who can win? Any company running a new social website, social network, collaborative site or web application. In other words: almost all the new applications on the web, and many of the established ones that have added a spot of Web 2.0 flavor.
So, any service with a Web 2.0 flavor can participate and they will be nominated, judged and voted thanks to the blog partners. Here is the list:
Techdirt

Blognation
Andy Beard
Collective Thoughts
Gadgetell
Watch Mojo
How to Split an Atom
LucaFiligheddu.com
Marketing Pilgrim
Pulse 2.0
This phase will be followed by a live ceremony taking place in San Francisco, where winners and partners will meet. I cannot tell you more now, but more details will be disclosed soon on this blog in the following days.
