[excerpt]After a very good conversation with my friend Pat Phelan from Cubic Telecom, met by chance in San Francisco (BTW, he brought with him their f*!*@£%g irish weather today…), I decided to give Mobivox another try, since he stated the quality was much better than other services.[/excerpt]
I’m actually using both Jajah and Rebtel here, but I gave Mobivox another try (the power of word of mouth…). Despite it’s not possible to get local numbers for each of your contacts, I have to admit the after you use it a couple of times, the “voice dial” capability is definitely stunning. I dialed the local number in SF, told the name of one of the contacts I have in the Mobivox Address Book and they were dialing the correspondent number for me. Cool.
I saw that the call arrives from a mobile number, so I believe they are using an SMS gateway or something like that. Quality was excellent.
I’ll try to use it more in the following days, it deserves a more detailed field test.
