[excerpt]If you buy or sell on eBay, this new application from eBay is for you.

eBay Desktop, completely developed with Adobe AIR, is a new desktop application that lets you manage your auctions easily straight from your desktop, without the need of opening a browser, and works both under Windows and Mac.[/excerpt]

The user interface is stunning, far ahead from applications like Garage Sale, a well known desktop software for Mac. On eBay Desktop, you can manage almost everything, from messages to watched items to auctions or items you have for sale. The only missed feature, something that is the strongest point of Garage Sale (in my opinion) is the ability to post new auctions with pre-defined and professionally designed templates. At first sight, you cannot do that on eBay Desktop.

While Internet is more and more becoming the platform and most services are moving to the web, this move by ebay really makes sense. Managing an auction or searching for items is becoming, for serious eBayers, like managing emails. For this reason, it deserves a desktop application. Great job, everyone’s eBay experience is going to be more involving and effective.
