Skype PR failed

Posted on 18 June 2008

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

I join Alec in his thanks to the Skype PR team. I don’t have time to waste, so I feel better now that I know I can avoid joining today’s conference call to learn more about “the future of Skype”. I already learnt more from many other blogs out there.

We’d like to invite you to find out more about an exciting and fundamental shift for Skype.

Join us on one of two conference calls we will be holding for media and bloggers on Wednesday, June 18th, 2008 at 12 PM EDT / 9 AM PDT, during which time you will receive a briefing and a demonstration, and have the opportunity to ask questions of our experts.

When I first read the invitation they sent me yesterday, I thought: “hey, they are doing a much better job than in the past”. Then, I read all the posts from other bloggers and immediately realized they failed completely.

Guys, next time please delete my and Alec’s email from your mailing list, you would get better results.

UPDATE: I chatted with Chaim Haas from Skype’s PR and I thought they realized that in the conference call invitation they could write that there was a Skype 4.0 beta client ready to be released. Hope this helped.
