Thanks! Let me clear up something about the 1/2 cent charge for on-network calls. If you want to call a SIP address using an edgebox PBX, Junction Networks doesn't charge for, nor do we really have anything to do with that Internet call. BUT, let's say you have two offices with edgebox PBXs, one using IAX, one using SIP. In order to place calls between them, you need a trunking provider that will stay in the call and perform protocol translation. That costs us bandwidth and processor utilization so we have to charge. The same goes for calls between conflicting codec users, NAT conflicts, etc.

The important distinction is that a TRUNKING service is nothing more than a POTS line delivered over an IP connection. INTERNET calls, such as pure SIP address calls, that don't require TRUNKING services, should not be sent to a TRUNKING provider but rather over the Internet. The routing for TRUNK vs. Other should be handled in the dial plan of the PBX.
