Meezoog is a new service aimed to help you build a trusted network of contacts and avoid fake identities.
I pointed out the emerging problem of fake identities in social networks, Facebook in particular, and Meezoog should help to make you network stronger and more reliable.
Meezoog is the first social network to employ a profound technology to address the usage of fake identities and profiles. Unlike prevailing approaches, it imitates the societal way people build their trust with other people. Meezoog’s “social trust” (aka “social proximity”) reflects people’s relationships in the real world and the ways in which they are connected to each other.
Meezoog is also a social dating service, where singles can find their matches depending on the “social proximity” of people in their network. The interesting thing is that Meezoog is open to singles as well as people already engaged, married or in a relationship who just want to strenghten their network of contacts.
One of the interesting features Meezoog bring to the table is the ability to see the nature of relationship among people.
Meezoog specifies and embeds the nature of relationship: “teacher”, “close friend”, “uncle”, “coworker”, etc.; its duration (days, years, etc.); the frequency of communications (daily/monthly/special occasions, etc.); etc.
This is very important, in particular in social networks like LinkedIN, where sometimes you ask for an introduction but you are not aware of how strong is the relationship between your contact and the person you want to get in touch with (a problem I already pointed out in the past).
Meezoog is currently connected to Facebook but new networks will be available soon. One of the investors is Yossi Vardi, popular for the popular instant messaging ICQ.
