How many Wordpress themes have you changed since you started your blog? Since I moved to Wordpress (giving up on Blogger), I think I changed at least 5 themes.
The theme is the frontend of your blog and it must be designed in a way your readers can find your blog nice, usable and a pleasure to read. Moreover, behind the scenes it must be coded according to some basic rules that let you play well in the game of search engine optimization (SEO).
A couple of weeks ago I changed the theme of my blog again, ending up to install what I think will be the last and definitive theme I will keep using for the following years.
The name of the theme is “Thesis” and it definitely stands out of the crowd of all the anonymous free WP themes you can easily find on the Internet. Unlike those themes, Thesis is a premium one, so it’s not free, but I can assure you it is worth every cent you pay for it and you’ll never look back.
The point is that Thesis is not really a theme but rather a framework. As soon as you install it, you’ll find two new configuration pages which let you customize almost everything in the theme without the need of writing a single line of HTML/PHP. Every detail is easily accessible from the backoffice and for those who want to make deeper customizations, they can just modify two custom files, one for CSS and the other one for PHP functions.
Why to choose a premium theme when you can find hundreds of free ones? Well, you can feel the difference. It is even far superior than other premium themes I tried so far since it is, I repeat again, a framework rather than a theme only.
Version 1.5 is coming out soon thanks to the hard work of the developer (on twitter, pearsonified) and I’ve been told that this upgrade is free for existing customers. That said, if you are looking for the best theme for Wordpress ever and if you care of your blog enough, you can’t but give Thesis a try.

Disclosure: the link above is an affiliate link but , honestly, everything written here is not certainly for that reason, I really think it is the best theme available for Wordpress.
UPDATE: latest version of Thesis is now 1.6!
