TwitBlogs, the Perfect Twitter Companion

TwitBlogs, the Perfect Twitter Companion

I have to admit, I discovered this service a little bit late but Twitblogs deserves a special mention among the services which leverage Twitter giving it even more power and funcionalities.

Micro blogging is great because it’s an immediate form to communicate with each other while “macro” blogging is a rich way to share your thoughts with video, images and other stuff with your readers. In a nutshell, Twitblogs tries to comine the two ways of communicating by enriching your micro posts with more content, photos and videos.

You basically write your “micro” post as you usually do on Twitter, but taking into account that you can now add rich content through Twitblogst, with videos, images, embed other content from other sites and much more. The result (as you see it on Twitter) is your tweet plus a link which brings your readers to Twitblogs.

Together with this option, with Twitblogs you can also monitor your Twitter stream as well as perform searches.

To be honest, Twitblogs is not the first service to enrich Twitter with the addition of more content. HelloTXT, a service which lets you post to multiple micro blogging services at once, offers users similar functionalities, like adding Youtube videos or integrating photos from Flickr. Not really the same, but while it would be very easy for services like this to add the same functionalities Twitblogs is providing today, the opposite is not that true.

Anyway, Twitblogs is definitely a service to look at closely since I bet more functionalities are going to be released in the following months and, by the way, it’s still an alpha service. It wouldn’t be bad if Twitblogs could be easily integrated into popular desktop Twitter clients like Twhirl or Tweetdeck.

Forgetting: who’s behind that? Sam Sethi, former Techcrunch writer, founder of the (not lucky) Blognation and internet entrepreneur.
