Posting images to Wordpress is a procedure I don’t usually find that fast. You have to open the gallery uploader, upload the images and insert them in the appropriate areas of your post.
Sometimes, at least for my WP installation, opening the gallery uploader is not that fast and I was looking for alternative ways to speed this process up, in particular when it comes to publish screenshots.
Yesterday I came across this very useful app called LittleSnapper It basically helps you organize images and screenshots on your Mac and quickly upload them through FTP to you remote WP uploads folder. The cool thing is that as soon as the images have been uploaded, it provides you with the HTML code to embed them on your post.
There are lots of shortcuts available, including different ways to take snapshots which will be immediately available on …. and ready to be uploaded. Here is how the process got better:
Before:
1) take the screenshot
2) save to your local folder
3) open the gallery uploader
4) choose the image from your local folder
5) as soon as it’s been uploaded, click on the “insert image” button
Now:
1) take the screenshot
2) upload through … and copy the embed code
3) paste the code into your post
The first two steps are very fast and speed up your process of about 40% on average. If screenshots are an important components of your blog posts, this app is a must have for you.
Easy right? There are lots of options available and images can also be uploaded to Flickr as well.
If you want to get this app now, you can catch the opportunity provided by MacHeist these days and get 12 apps at the cost of one.
