Two weeks ago we announced a new service, Tweefind, aimed to provide a new way to search Twitter, displaying results based on users’ rank.
The rank is calculated by taking into account many different parameters, as described in my previous post. The more our algorithm is running, the more accurate this rank becomes.
Today I’m happy to announce a new service which uses that rank to give Twitter users a way to fight against each other: Tweefight. Yes, you got it, now Twitter users can fight to find who the best Twitter user is. The higher is your rank, the more you are likely to win a fight against other twitter users. As you can see below, the little, cute chick on Tweefind suddenly turned into an aggressive rooster! Mashable broke the news again.
The cool thing is that ranks change daily, depending on how you use Twitter. So you can win a fight today, but you can lose it tomorrow if you don’t keep using Twitter as much as you are used to. Funny, right?
I have to say I’m finding this service definitely addictive. I keep fighting against other Twitter users to try to become the World Champion. Who’s this? The World Champion is the Twitter user who won more fights on Tweefight. In other words, he’s a Featured User on Tweefight’s homepage.
Wait, a featured user’s profile for FREE? Yes, in the hope that Tweefight would become a popular service, the more you win the more you are likely to get new followers.
Mmm, you are not that powerful? Need some help? Ssshhh, don’t tell anyone, you can boost your power! Yes, if you want to get more chances to win fights on Tweefight you can boost your power by buying our incredible potions and get more chances to win. You can buy:
- spinach: your power will be increased by 10% for one fight
- magic potion: 15% for the next 10 fights
- super potion: 30% for the next 20 fights
Cool right? Let’s say that this is another way to give us some food to keep Tweefight running while you get showcased (hopefully) on our homepage. An innovative and alternative way to become our sponsor
Please tell us if you like Tweefight and your comments and feedbacks are much appreciated. Enjoy!
p.s. What about Mashable vs Techcrunch?
UPDATE: due to the unexpected and HUGE traffic Tweefight received today (4 fights per second, on average), we are upgrading our servers. The service should be back up and running tomorrow before 2 a.m. P.S.T. Apologize for the inconvenience.
