Share How To Call Any Skype User From a Regular Phone
Skype is becoming more a more a widely adopted internet service to communicate with each other, no doubt about that. The problem is that I cannot call my Skype contacts while on the go and without any smartphone with me. Or, better, it would be great if I could call a Skype friend with my landline phone at home.
A viable solution to this problem is offered by ManiFone. With ManiFone, thank to their just-launched service ManiSky, Skype users can now assign local numbers to their Skype contacts (to the most called ones, at least) in order to be able to call them from regular phones or their mobile phones, at the cost of a local call. The service is free for up to 3 minutes calls, while unlimited calls can be obtained through a 6-months subscription, for just $10.
Users just have to subscribe to Manifone and start adding their Skype contacts in order to assign them a local number. The registration process takes 5 seconds only and as soon as you login to your account, you can immediately start adding contacts. If you insert your friends’ skype ID in place of phone numbers, Skype users are immediately recognized and a local number is assigned. The local number depends on the location you choose when signing up.
As you can see above, a local italian number is assigned to each contact. Actually, it’s not a local number of my area, but it doesn’t matter so much since most plans for mobile or landline offer the same price to call italian phone numbers regardless of the area.
While other services offer local numbers to call Skype users, like iSkoot, I like Manifone’s approach, not bounded to a specific phone or application and the cost of the subscription is pretty low, too.
