Yesterday I got my MacHeist‘s software bundle for MacOSX. MacHeist is a pretty well known initiative among Mac users since they offer an awesome bundle of great applications for a tiny percentage of their cost. Usually it was in the range $39 – $49 (for over $1000 worth apps) but this year they designed a “nano” bundle that you can get for FREE.
The best surprise I found in this bundle is ShoveBox. This is a little app that does something I was always looking for.
In a nutshell, you can drag and drop almost EVERYTHING to its menubar icon and the app archives that content for you for future usage.
It could be an image taken from a website, a URL, a snippet of text, a file a much more.
It stores the content you dragged so that you can easily organize it (flag, annotate, export…) and use it later. It’s very helpful since otherwise it would be difficult to easily access to this or that file/url later (this is, at least, a problem I usually face).
An easy keyboard shortcut of your choice brings up the main “organize” window while another shortcut lets you easily make an annotation (“QuickJot”) that is stored in the same archive and you can use later.

What to say, a little app that solves a lot of problems and, from now on, will be added to my must-have essential Mac toolbox. And, if you are fast enough, you can get it for FREE ($24.95 otherwise) from MacHeist together with other 5 great apps.
Last but not least: did I tell you you can also get the ShoveBox iPhone app for $3.99 and sync it with the desktop version?
There is a 50% discount for the next three days, too…
