The more I use my BlackBerry Bold(and I use it a lot, I can assure you…) the more all this thing about the BlackBerry App World looks like a joke to me.
The number of apps I would like to store on my BB is significant, but mine is just a dream due to the very low memory the Bold is provided with. Moreover, the more you use your device, the more everything become unstable, so that you need to install stuff like Memory Booster or, worst, pull the battery if you want to get a fully functional device back.
All that said, while I know very well what strong features my BB has over other platforms (see iPhone), like multi-threading and integrated realtime alerts, the memory size and management is the biggest issue you face with a BlackBerry Bold (other BB are not better anyway). Someone told me this thing has been improved with the recent Bold 9700, but the problem is always there: you can’t store and use more than a few apps at a time on your Bold. So make sure your choices are the right ones, otherwise you have to delete apps to make room for new ones. Sucks.
This huge weakness makes the BlackBerry App World, where you can download lots of great apps for your BB, a big joke to me. I never really enjoyed browsing my App World since I know very well that if I start downloading apps my Bold will run our of memory soon. So what?
This is the first time I publicly declare I could be willing to trade my Bold with a new Motorola Milestone (the EU Droid). Comments and reviews are promising and you can fully enjoy lots of apps installed. What do you think?
