After last week’s rumors, It’s now official: BT bought Ribbit for 105M.

BT today announced it has acquired Ribbit Corporation, a Silicon Valley-based ‘Telco 2.0′ platform company, for $105 million in cash, on a cash-free, debt-free basis. The acquisition will accelerate BT’s strategy to transform itself into a next- generation, platform-based, software-driven services company.

According to some rumors, it seems the #1 Web 2.0 blog, TechCrunch, is in talk with AOL for a possible acquisition. The deal value should be in the range of $20-30M.
Not sure whether this rumor has really a solid base or not, anyway since Michael Arrington lives his life dealing with rumors, I think we [...]

According to trusted sources it seems that Ribbit has been acquired by the incumbent british telecom operator BT. Ribbit was launched a couple of months ago and they defined themselves as the Silicon Valley’s First phone company. It seems the deal has not been finalized yet, but should be close to the final step.

San Francisco based web search engine Ask.com acquired Lexicon Publishing Group, owners of Dictionary.com and Thesaurus.com.
Even if Google dominates the web search market, it seems there is still space for Ask.com to consolidate its position and increase their market share.
