IP Phones auto configuration by Fonality

The new Trixbox Pro 2.0 just released by Fonality offers an interesting capability: you can plug your IP Phones in and they just download the appropriate configuration from the network, reboot and just work. It’s very important because it helps resellers and system integrators to save a lot of time during their daily job.

While it’s certainly nothing really new (in my company our Polycom phones get auto configured as soon as plugged in, since we moved in our new offices back in 2005), the challenging part is to make this feature available to most IP phones seamlessly.

The next step is to make this feature available to any provider which needs to make the configuration process as easy as possible for their user base in the consumer market.
