Share Jajah and iPhone speculation
Hey, wait a second, I think it’s time to clarify something here.
During these days I’ve read a lot of posts announcing that Jajah is going to “officially” support Apple iPhone.
Of course, don’t get me wrong, it’s a great marketing tactic (and it works!). Take a cool/popular product/service people are talking about and someway associate your product/service to that in a press release. I’ve already shared my thoughts on this a few weeks ago, but I would like to give my take on this story again: Jajah, as many others VoIP services, is a web-activated service, that means that you don’t have any VoIP software to download, but users use a web page to activate a call. Technically speaking, It’s called “third party call control”.
In this perspective, any device capable of showing a web page (let say last-generation device) should be able to show Jajah page. This said, Jajah should work on them. iPhone is a device capable of showing a web page… so…
Fortunately I’m not alone in pointing this out.
I look forward to a press release from any of all the most important web-based services/portals that announces that their services will be iPhone-compatible. They should do that.
