According to Michael “Scoop” Arrington at TechCrunch, GrandCentral is going to be acquired by Google. It would surely be a big deal for my friends Vincent and Craig, since they have worked very hard on this innovative service and they released something which really makes the difference in the VoIP market.
The economics of this deal have not been disclosed officially yet, but the title of the story explicitly says “50 millions” that is a lot of money.
I wonder how is Google going to use that service. Integration with Google Talk? Part of a worldwide VoIP service that we don’t know about yet? Complete integration with GMail? An “all-in-one” messaging dashboard for their users?
I’ll stay tuned and, above all, will keep using GrandCentral.
