Mark Evans reports today that Mark Cuban decided to divide his friends into three tiers, and he says he agrees with this approach. In addition, he continues:

I wouldn’t be surprised if FB launches a service soon where you can divide and tier your “friends” into mini-groups.

It seems that someone at FB read Mark(s) thoughts in advance, since today I found this feature on my Facebook’s friends list.

You have now the ability to create new lists of friends, that you can choose according to different criteria.

In the image below, you can see that I created a list named “Real Friends”, that I can actually populate with my real friends.

Really useful and congratulations to both Mark(s) for their prediction.
