I just came accross the new service released by Gmail Labs which lets you easily transform your emails into tasks.

I usually use Gmail Labs’ “superstars” intensely in order to remember that there is a certain task associated with an email, mainly to remember there is a due action related to that specific email.

Now I can easily check an email and transform it into a task by just pressing <shift> + t. After the task is created, you can add more properties to it, like due date, more info etc. You can also add a task without any email related to it, by just writing inside the task window the pressing enter.

I find this feature very useful and I expect to see a more tight integration with other Google services like Calendar, for instance.

I would like to share my experience and frustrations as Yahoo Mail users.
I've been a Yahoo Mail user for many years. I even pay a small fee just to get rid of the ads.
I'm getting tired of waiting for Yahoo to upgrade their Y!Mail. I need (1) a decent Calendar page (the current one is the same as in 1995), (2) a decent Contact management system (the current one is obsolete and dummy), (3) un unlimited number of mail folders (because Y!Mail doesn't support tags and threads as gMail I started to create a folder for every one of my contacts. After 100 folders I hit the Yahoo limit.) (4) a decent RSS reader. The one integrated with Y!Mail simply doesn't work for me. It's very primitive.

Now I'm seriously considering to switch to gMail. I don't like the gMail UI, but I can't work anymore with Yahoo limitations and obsolete tools.
  • I heard others complaining about Yahoo and many of them switched to Gmail already. Gmail's approach is different from competitors, but it's much easier and as soon as you get used to it, you'll love it!
