One of the features of Twitter I never used too much is the option “Favorite“. It basically “marks” a Tweet and lets you quickly find it again on the Favorite message list which easily accessible from your Twitter page.
The point is that the name of this function is, IMHO, wrong. When I favorite a post it doens’t mean I like it or I prefer that one over others (lots of times this doesn’t make sense) but simply I can’t look into it immediately, but need more time and will look at it later. It’s more a “bookmark” function than a way to favorite a tweet.
Since I installed Socialscope for my Blackberry, I’m using Twitter from my mobile phone much more than before. While on the go, I see lots of interesting tweets with links that I would like to check but don’t have time to. Hence the best solution is to favorite it and to check it later. If you don’t favorite it, it’s difficult to find it out a few hours later.
Moreover, it would be great if I could know who favorited my tweets and why, though. A few days ago I blogged about a new service called Twitblogs, which lets you share more content together with your tweet. If you favorite tweets from within Twitblogs, the system also sends a reply notifying the users that you favorited their tweets, something I find very useful and which can lead to the start of a new discussion.

What about you? Why do you favorite a tweet? “Favorite” is a killer feature and you will appreaciate it as soon as you start using mobile Twitter more and more. And some Twitter users started appreciating my idea:
