Two months ago I bought this wonderful Wordpress theme, Thesis, and I can definitely say I will never look back. Thesis costs $87, a price that could seem a bit high at first sight, but I can assure you it is worth each penny. Take a look at my initial post about Thesis to get more information about it.
That being said, I would have never thought that Thesis could have been an effective source of extra revenues for this blog. The guys behind Thesis offer an affiliate program, that means if you make other people buy thesis through your affiliate links, you’ll earn a commission.
Nothing new actually, there are tons of affiliate programs that bloggers try to monetize their blog, but I can assure you that Thesis’ one is different.
After two months, I made 6 sales from this blog for a total of $248.49 in commissions (you get 33% for each sale), taking into account both sales of the personal version as well as sales of the developer’s version (which costs $164). Wow! I never made such amount of money in affiliate sales given my current monthly pageviews (70-90.000), it’s been a big surprise for me. In case I keep this rate along a year, I’m likely to earn about $1490, not bad right?
In conclusion, do you have a Wordpress blog and want to earn extra money out of it?
1) Invest $87 and get the wonderful Thesis theme
2) Apply for the affiliate program and insert banners and links in your blog
3) Promote it on as many social networks as you can (Twitter works great)
4) Make money
