Twitter + YouTube + Fun = Tweedeogame

I’m very happy to announceTweedeogame, a new twitter-based service my company is launching today.

Tweedeogame is a game based on Twitter and Youtube: in a nutshell, a Twitter user can play a game by guessing five tags associated to a Youtube video. The tags have been assigned by another user who previously shared that video on Tweedeogame.

Example: User A shares a Youtube Video on Tweedeogame and associates five tags to it. Other users (let’s say User B) can now watch that video and guesses the tags. For each tag guessed, both user A and user B earn one point. The game is very fast, users can play inserting tags, watching a video, inserting tags and so on.

It is worth noting that in the long term, if a lot of users choose a tag that has not been chosen when the video was originally shared by User A, that tag becomes official. There is an algorithm which makes the five tags better and better, depending on how users tag videos.

The new tags slowly replace those (less guessed) originally posted by User A. For this reason, it is very important for User A to tag that video as better as possible, in order to earn more points by the games played by other users.

Users can share new videos on Twitter and invite other users to play. Right now no prizes, but we are working on this

Final thoughts: think of how useful a huge database of videos tagged by the crowd could be as the starting point for other services…
